
Be It Proclaimed:
WHEREAS, On March 25, 1984,
at 3:00 PM, certain members of
Reverend Wilson's former church met at 4443 Reading Road,
Cincinnati, Ohio and determined to organize a new Baptist Mission.
WHEREAS, on April 1, 1984, Sister Leola
Stearns presented the
name "CORNERSTONE BAPTIST" based on 1 Peter 2:6 and St.
Matthew 21:24, the Mission accepted the name presented and
became as "CORNERSTONE MISSION."
WHEREAS, On April 1 and April 8, 1984,
the first organized worship
service and Sunday School were held.
WHEREAS, on August 29, 1984, the
Mission officially incorporated
with the office of the Secretary of State of Ohio (Sherrod Brown)
and became "CORNERSTONE MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH."
WHEREAS, in 1986, Reverend Wilson
unveiled his vision of future
development plans, the 7 Phases, which included a church, a
school and a hospital.
WHEREAS, in May, 1988, groundbreaking
ceremony was observed,
building commenced.
WHEREAS, on February 5, 1989, the
first worship service was
held in the new church.
WHEREAS, the 1990's have marked
the continuous growth,
spiritually and physically of the Church.
WHEREAS, on September 27, 1998,
groundbreaking ceremony
was observed for the new classroom, office and fellowship hall
annex building.
WHEREAS, on January 21, 2001, marked
the dedication of the
new classroom, office and fellowship hall annex building.
WHEREAS, the Officers, members
and friends of the Church,
rededicated themselves to the future building of God's Kingdom
to HIM be the glory and honor forever, Amen!!!
Now, Therefore, I, Charlie Luken,
Mayor of the City of Cincinnati, do hereby proclaim
Sunday January 21, 2001 as
"CORNERSTONE MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH DAY"
in Cincinnati.
