Congratulations Cornerstone! Our church is in the process of change without compromising the Word of God. Change from the real to the ideal, from what it is to what God would have it to be, realizing that we must minister in an ever-changing world. Therefore, we must commit to protect this church that God has placed in our care. We are reminded in the book of Ephesians 4:3 … “that we are joined together with peace through the Spirit” and in the book of Colossians 3:14 …most of all let love guide your life” then the whole church will stay together in perfect harmony.
Rick Warren, noted author stated in his book The Purpose Driven
Life that there are six (6) ways to protect your church from
the enemy:
1) Focus on what we have in common, not on our differences (Godly things)
2) Be realistic about your church, in light of the gap that exists between the real and ideal
3) Choose to encourage each other rather than criticize
4) Refuse to listen or carry any gossip
5) Practice God’s method of conflict resolution according to Matthew 18:15-17
6) Support your Pastor and Church leaders as they support each other
Children, this will lay the foundation for what God intends this church to be. Brethren, it is the responsibility of each of us to protect and promote the unity of Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church. God blesses churches that are unified.
Now let each of us honestly consider what we are doing personally to make this church family warm and loving. Listen. Here is why there are many people in our community looking for love and a place to belong. When people find a church like ours, where members genuinely love and care for each other, people in this community will rush to get in; that’s what genuine love and care will do for our church through you by the Spirit of God.
Sincerely,
Henry Wilson Jr., Pastor |
